Movies, Blu-Ray And DVD's

Technology has taken us from Beta to VHS and now to DVD movies. With each new step of technology, the pictures became more clear, the sound more defined and an improved experience overall. However, nothing has matched the quality of DVD movies. With crystal clear images, incomparable sounds and tons of added features, DVD movies are a hit.

Gone are the days when a movie rental was just a movie. These days, a DVD rental includes not only the movie, but also deleted scenes, cast interviews, commentary and often even a documentary on how the film was made. Video store rentals are excellent, but what if you don't have a local rental store? No problem. Several big name retailers offer online rentals, which means that a video store is now just a click away. For a monthly fee, online rental companies will allow you to create a wish list of DVD movies that you want to see. They will send a movie from your list and, after you watch it, it is returned in exchange for another selection on your list. This process goes on and on without any additional cost to the customer. The only thing you pay for is a monthly membership fee. So, whether it's online or in person, a video store is a terrific place to rent Hollywood's latest hit movies.

If you are looking to purchase a video, the options are equally unlimited. Virtually every retail store has an electronic section in which they offer DVD movies for sale. The new releases are generally more expensive than others so, if you're on a budget, check out the titles that have been released for a year or longer. You may be surprised at the bargains to be found. Another purchasing option is through a video club. With this type of membership, you simply sign up and select several movies at an unbelievable low price. In exchange for the bargain, you agree to purchase a predetermined number of movies over the next several years. Each month, the video club will send a video catalog and selection card. Be sure to read the selection card carefully because you may have to return it to the company. Typically, a director's selection is chosen every month and is automatically sent to the customer unless they indicate they do not wish to receive it. A customer can indicate that they do not wish to receive this selection simply by marking the appropriate box on the selection card and mailing it back. Or, often times, customers may indicate their wishes online without having to spend money on postage to mail the selection card back. Video clubs are a terrific way to build a nice collection of DVD movies and they offer terrific deals every month.

Spiritual Review: The Believer, a drama on DVD

Rating: 4.5 Hearts - Excellent

Okay, okay. So I'm a big fan of Ryan Gosling. In fact, My main reason for viewing the believer is because I wanted to see all the work of Gosling. When I noticed that the believer has won the Grand Jury Prize at the Festival Sundance Film, which has sealed the case, and I am even more pleased with the prosect to see. Henry Bean co-wrote and directed The Believer in 2001, which is loosely based on the true story of Daniel Burros. Back in the 1960s Burros became a member of the American Nazi Party and leader of the Klu Klux Klan, but he shot and killed himself after a reporter from New York Times revealed his Jewish heritage.

The Believer uses anti-Semitism to explore love and hate and to show how love and hate get all confused based on the fundamental beliefs about God. It also shows how our belief in God plays a direct role in determining our life and our experience of death. Bean executive director The Believer with the theme of the biblical story of Abraham. Abraham is asked by God to sacrifice and kill his son Isaac. But why should we do? Does God want us to kill us and others as a sign of faith, devotion, love and obedience? means self-killing or other make you happy? Is God just a power trip? Do we have intelligence and the free will to ignore God and guide ourselves if its management did not make sense? The Believer reminds us that Jesus was a Jew informed who will follow God and allowed him to be sacrificed and killed for expressing his love of humanity. Perhaps the sacrifice of self is the ultimate path to enlightenment.

The story is told from the perspective of Daniel Balint, 20 neo-Nazi who denies something his Jewish roots and speaks without stops his desire to kill a Jew. We see Daniel intimidating and torturing a Jewish man gentle and bookish. We hear rave about how we should hate Jews because they are Jews. We are looking to join an anti-Semitic fascist underground group terrorized Jews and Daniel finally gets into a heap of trouble. Daniel has a Jewish friend who wants to help. She said: "I do not care about the truth, I care about you. "She's saying Daniel she values most mundane facts that values, morality or social biblical truths. This is the central message of the film and node. The love we have in our hearts is the only true religion irrefutable. This is the truth that can not be argued or denied. Daniel feels also this love in his heart, and it makes him a very confused and conflicted person.

When his cohorts to sully the Torah (the word of God) Daniel secretly and meticulously repair it. And when Daniel was presented with two opportunities to kill Jews, he can not do it. Daniel is supposed to be the gunman who fired a respected Jewish leader, but he misses the shot intentionally. The next try came when Daniel and his group stage, a time bomb is set to activate during a service in a synagogue. But when Daniel realizes his girlfriend and other friends are there, he warns against the bomb before someone gets hurt. Finally, Daniel reached his goal of killing a Jew when he sacrifices his own life in the attack.

Inspiration
Daniel was asked to be a recruiter / spokesperson for the fascist group, he joined, but he gets fired when he starts talking about how best how to get rid of the Jews is to love them. "Without hatred, the so-called chosen people disappear. The more they are hated, the more they become strong. "He says that Love is the only force strong enough to stop the Jews want to remain separate from others. Writer-director Bean makes other minor but important characters that reinforce this point. Their dialogue includes phrases like "Maybe I a Jew in a previous life, "and" Forget all that Jewish. He did not play. The only thing that matters is the market, and she cares not who you are .... Maybe we are all Jews now, what is the difference? "

The hatred is based on the idea that some of our brothers and sisters are different, better or worse than others. Jews Are they really different? Relevance

But Daniel rejects what they say because instead of fighting against the Nazis, the survivors have accepted a role of victim. One survivor Daniel says he has no right to judge them, because he has no way of knowing what he would do in such an impossible situation.

Of course, at film's end, Daniel is in his own impossible situation. It may save his life and live the rest of it as a criminal in prison or he may sacrifice his life for a higher purpose. Daniel chooses deliberately and courageously self-sacrifice. Like Jesus, the enlightened Jew, Daniel sacrifice oneself for love for others and for the love of God. After the death of Daniel, we meet again. He is back in his school, Hebrew, running a flight of stairs after another, always seeking something for God, meaning, glory and enlightenment. But there nothing, nothing but endless search. Daniel is learning what we all need to learn. The self-sacrifice is meaningless. Death is empty. God is there. And the example of enlightenment taught by Jesus needs to be reinterpreted, without the notion of sacrifice.

Branch
Daniel teen does not offer a convincing and credible performance. Fortunately, there are only a handful of scenes with him, and what we remember is the, disturbing performance multi-dimensional rendering by Ryan Gosling. Furthermore, The plot believer feels sometimes above and artificial. However, the believer is amazing because it makes you think about whether the ideas we learn about God, the same that have been transmitted generation after generation, for two millennia, are kept.
